Customer Service Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The position will be responsible for processing sales transactions, providing excellent customer service, and supporting general store operations in a furniture showroom or store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them at the cash register.
• Accurately process sales transactions using a POS (Point of Sale) system.
• Handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, and store gift cards.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Answer customer inquiries related to pricing, promotions, financing, and delivery options.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints or direct them to the appropriate department.
• Support showroom staff with tasks such as tagging merchandise and light administrative duties.
• Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Follow all company policies regarding security and cash handling procedures.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a retail or furniture environment.
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift small to medium packages if needed.
• Familiarity with POS systems and standard office software is a plus.

Work Schedule:

• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
