Position Summary

The Customer Service / Planner owns assigned customer orders from purchase order through delivery and serves as the primary link between our customers, manufacturing operations, and outside suppliers. This hands-on role manages the daily execution of customer orders, proactively communicates with customers, coordinates production and outside processing, and works across the organization to identify and resolve issues and maintain on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately enter and manage customer orders in the ERP system
• Create manufacturing work orders, schedule outside services, and create job packets in the ERP system
• Monitor production status, customer due dates, and supplier commitments to meet daily schedule
• Manage outside processing, purchasing and supplier activities
• Manage purchasing of raw materials and production supplies, including review of material requirements, inventory levels, and supplier pricing
• Identify risks to schedule and take proactive action to keep orders on track
• Coordinate daily with Manufacturing, Quality, Estimating, Shipping, and Suppliers
• Communicate directly with customers regarding order status, delivery commitments, and changes
• Build strong relationships with customers by demonstrating responsiveness, accountability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience
• Develop strong understanding of assigned customer accounts including parts, requirements, ordering patterns and priorities
• Onboard new customers and maintain customer information in the ERP system
• Monitor delivery performance and track KPIs
• Support continuous improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, order management, customer service, or purchasing. APICS certification is a plus.
• Experience in a build-to-order manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong computer skills, including ERP Systems, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication with a customer-focused mindset
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or willingness to learn
• Experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing preferred (AS9100, ITAR)
• Team player, continuous improvement mindset

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Work Location: On Site (this position does not qualify for remote work)

Pay: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour
