Ironwood West Michigan Group is hiring a Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Portage/Kalamazoo area.

This is a full-time, W-2, in-person retail position where you'll work directly with customers inside an assigned retail location. You'll welcome customers, learn about their needs, answer questions, explain available products and services, discuss current promotions, and assist customers throughout the purchase or enrollment process.

While retail sales is part of the position, we're not looking only for people with traditional sales backgrounds. We're interested in candidates who know how to communicate, connect with people, provide great service, and are willing to learn.

Paid training and ongoing coaching are provided.

What You'll Do

Your day will be centered around creating a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Welcome and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Provide face-to-face customer service inside an assigned retail location
• Start conversations and ask questions to understand customer needs
• Answer customer questions and provide accurate information
• Learn assigned products, services, features, and promotions
• Explain available options in a clear and easy-to-understand way
• Help customers compare available products or services
• Recommend appropriate options based on customer needs
• Assist customers throughout the purchase or enrollment process
• Help resolve basic customer questions or concerns
• Maintain accurate and current product knowledge
• Build positive relationships with customers
• Work toward individual and team customer service and retail sales goals
• Participate in paid training and ongoing coaching
• Represent Ironwood West Michigan Group professionally

Your Previous Experience May Be More Relevant Than You Think

You don't need Customer Service Representative on your résumé to have relevant experience.

If you've spent time helping customers, answering questions, handling busy shifts, recommending products, solving problems, or creating positive experiences for guests, you've likely developed skills that can transfer well to this position.

Compensation

Base Pay: $16.00–$20.00 per hour

This is a full-time, W-2 hourly position.

Starting base pay within the posted range is based on relevant experience, position responsibilities, and interview evaluation.

Additional performance-based incentives may be available based on individual results.

Performance-based incentives are separate from the $16.00–$20.00 hourly base compensation and are not guaranteed.

Paid Training

We don't expect you to know everything on day one.

Ironwood West Michigan Group provides paid training and ongoing coaching to help new team members build confidence and develop the skills needed for the position.

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person retail position in the Portage/Kalamazoo area.

Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Working face-to-face with customers
• Working within an active retail environment
• Weekday availability
• Some evening and weekend availability based on retail operating hours and business needs

Specific scheduling expectations and the assigned retail location will be discussed during the interview process.

About Ironwood West Michigan Group

Ironwood West Michigan Group supports established brands and service providers through face-to-face customer engagement, product and service education, customer service, and retail sales within established retail environments.

Our team works directly with customers to understand their needs, answer questions, explain available products and services, discuss current promotions, and assist customers throughout the purchase or enrollment process.

Depending on the assigned campaign, products and services may include consumer-focused categories such as wireless and telecommunications, home internet and connectivity, energy services, or other consumer services.

Specific client and retail partner names may remain confidential based on business agreements. Candidates will receive additional information regarding the applicable product/service category, job responsibilities, compensation structure, work environment, and expectations during the hiring process.

Work Location: In person at an assigned retail location in the Portage/Kalamazoo, Michigan area.
