What they need

We're Alignr, a modern recruitment partner helping ambitious businesses hire smarter and faster.

This time we're partnering exclusively with a well-established grain milling and processing business operating out of Bordertown. They've earned a strong community reputation, a loyal workforce and a genuine, values-driven culture — proud, honest, proactive and accountable. Right now they're going through a period of positive change: office renovations, structural investment, and a real focus on their people.

This role has been reshaped and firmed up. It's fast-paced and diverse, with lots of customers, lots of communication and constant interaction across sales, supply chain, ops and purchasing. They're after someone with real energy and drive who wants to step it up.

Are you looking for...

  • A fast-paced, diverse role where you own the order journey end-to-end, not just a slice of it?
  • A genuinely varied day, working across sales, supply chain, ops and purchasing rather than sitting in one lane?
  • An established, values-driven regional employer with a genuine community reputation, rather than a faceless one?
  • A business that's far bigger and more impressive than people expect — paddock to plate, agri and manufacturing under one roof?
  • A close-knit, community-oriented team where people are genuinely lovely to work with?

What's in it for you

  • Paying up to $60,000–$65,000 Base + Super
  • Onsite, 8am–4pm, with genuine flexibility around school pick-ups, drop-offs and family commitments
  • A role being reshaped and invested in — made more substantial across supply chain, quality and customer service
  • An established, values-driven regional employer with a genuine community reputation
  • A friendly, community-oriented team of people who are genuinely lovely to work with
  • Office renovations underway — the physical environment is being invested in too
  • Backed by a strong HR and leadership team who care about getting this right

The business

A grain milling and processing business operating out of Bordertown and Dimboola in regional South Australia. They've built a strong reputation in their community, backed by a loyal team and a genuine, values-driven culture — proud, honest, proactive and accountable.

This is a genuine paddock-to-plate operation — grain, agriculture and manufacturing under one roof — and people are consistently surprised by just how big and impressive it is once they get inside. It's a fairly unique business, and getting your head around those operations is the single biggest (and most rewarding) challenge of the role.

The team & the role

You'll sit within the Supply Chain / Customer Service function, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, in an open-plan office upstairs overlooking the production floor around 15 people in the area. A second person in a similar role is already in the team and still learning, so you won't be doing it alone.

This is a genuine coordination role. You'll be the primary point of contact for order-related matters, coordinating customer orders from receipt through to production planning, transport, delivery and completion. You'll work closely across Supply Chain, Sales, Production, Quality and Finance, and provide some domestic sales support for customers reaching out for oats and similar products.

It's a fast-paced, high-comms environment with lots of customers and constant interaction between departments — the kind of role that suits someone with energy who likes being at the centre of the action.

You'll be supported by a leader who's firm but fair — direct, passionate and genuinely invested in her people. She's been with the business for 20 years, starting as a logistics officer and working her way up, and cares deeply about both the business and the community. You'll be in good hands.

What you'll focus on

Order management

  • Process customer orders from receipt through to confirmation and system entry
  • Review orders for accuracy and release to production planning
  • Update orders when supply schedules change and manage standing order programs
  • Close domestic orders at month-end

Customer service

  • Respond to and resolve customer order enquiries as the primary point of contact
  • Investigate complaints and coordinate considered responses
  • Keep customers informed on deliveries and supply status

Customer & quality administration

  • Maintain customer master data, pricing and product records, and forecasting/production planning data
  • Create new customers and products
  • Provide customer quality documentation, complete supplier questionnaires
  • Coordinate samples and trial requests

Who we're looking for

  • Industry experience in grain or milling isn't required — if you bring strong customer service and solid admin skills, they'll teach you the product side.
  • Experience in customer service, order management, logistics, administration or supply chain support (ideally within a manufacturing, food or production environment) is highly regarded.
  • Above all, they want someone with high energy and real motivation — a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is genuinely wanting to step it up.

The right person brings:

  • High energy, drive and motivation, and the ability to keep pace in a busy, high-comms environment
  • Warm, professional customer service capability, and the ability to handle complaints and claims with care and thought rather than reacting
  • Strong administration and coordination skills — comfortable with spreadsheets, email, business systems and general office coordination
  • Strong planning, forecasting and organisational skills, with genuine attention to detail and accuracy, particularly around claims and quality documentation
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision

Who this isn't for

❌ People who just respond to emails without thinking about what's actually needed
❌ Anyone who takes direct communication personally and can't self-regulate ❌ People who need constant supervision or direction to stay productive
❌ Anyone who isn't comfortable in a regional, community-oriented environment where everyone knows everyone
❌ People looking for a purely quiet, solo office role — this involves real collaboration and cross-team liaison
❌ Anyone after a slow, low-key pace — this is a busy, fast-moving, high-comms role

Must-haves

  • High energy and motivation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service experience, warm and professional, with the ability to handle complaints and claims thoughtfully
  • Solid administration and coordination skills — spreadsheets, email and business systems
  • Genuine attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision
  • Based in or able to relocate to Bordertown, and comfortable in a collaborative, community-oriented, onsite environment

Nice to haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing, food or production environment
  • Order management, logistics or supply chain support experience
  • Pronto and Microsoft Office experience
  • Exposure to quality documentation, claims handling or forecasting
