CUSTOMER SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The City of Sealy is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Customer Service Technician. This position, under the general direction of the Public Works Director, is responsible for responding to customer service issues related to the City’s water, sewer, and natural gas systems. Duties include investigating and resolving complaints, performing utility connects/disconnects, making minor repairs, reading and troubleshooting meters, and completing utility line locates. This position also assists with repair, maintenance, and construction activities within the department and is responsible for the operation and upkeep of assigned vehicles and equipment. Must be available for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and subject to emergency after-hours callouts. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED; four (4) years of experience in water, sewer, and gas department-related work preferred; valid Texas class “C” driver’s license; current “D” groundwater and wastewater licenses, and poly-fusion certification. Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, background check, and MVR review. Subject to PHMSA randomized drug screening. This is a non-exempt position; hourly salary range is $23.58 to $33.01.
