Customer Service/Meat Packer

We are looking for a meat packing/customer service superstar to join our friendly team!

We are an Award Winning Butchery that has been serving Taranaki for over 50 years. We have succeeded so far because we pride ourselves on our customer service and the quality and range of our offerings.

You will be joining our friendly, hard working team, in a fast paced and ever changing environment - We'll bet you had no idea that butchery was so diverse!

We are looking for a team member who wants to help our brand and services continue to flourish and that can offer the following:

• Someone who is well presented and personable - you will be at the forefront of the retail store on a daily basis and you need to represent The Kiwi Butcher Shop accordingly

• Excellent time management skills - we offer a lot of value added products, and many of these need to be made daily - efficiency and the ability to complete a job that has been started is essential

• Ability to interact well with customers - great customer service is an integral part of this role and it essential that you can greet, communicate and assist customers everytime someone walks in the door.

• Flexibility - you may be required to work extra hours at busier times such as Christmas and Promotions.

• A clean bill of health - you will be on your feet and walking around our shop all day and you will be required to lift boxes and trays of meat around at times when restocking, this position is a physically active one.

• Communcation skills - as we are such a diverse business and there are constant changes happening it is important that you are able to communicate well with all members of the team

• Ability to adapt - as well as working well with a team, we also need you to be able to work independently at times as well depending on the job at hand.

• An eye for detail - we strive to maintain a clean, tidy and aesthetically pleasing shop for our customers, people buy with their eyes so everything needs to look good always.

• Great work ethic - reliability, integrity and a willingness to learn and fulfil daily expectations with our company values in mind regardless of the job at hand all while following the guidelines of our Food Control Plan.

This is a permanent full time position (approx 42.5 hours) Mon to Fri 9am-6pm and one Saturday a month 8-4pm.

Each day you will be required to serve customers throughout the day, pack meat that our butchers have cut, make value added products, rotate stock throughout the chiller and shop when filling shelves, assist with packing online deliveries, and carry out the end of day clean up to ensure the retail shop is in tip top shape!

This role is a closing shift and requires you to be comfortable with locking up and securing the store at the end of each day.

Previous experience in retail is a bonus but not a must. As long as you are willing to learn, we can teach you all you need to know, you just need to bring yourself and a can-do attitude along with you.
