Customer Technical Service Engineer

About the role

This role involves supporting sales and customer service activities, providing application services, managing projects, handling complaints, and overseeing capping machine installation and maintenance for closure systems and food processing operations.

What we're looking for

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Graduate

• 3-5 years of experience as CTS/Sales Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experienced in Food processing, Vacuum Closure Manufacturing is a plus.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics, and specifications

• Excellent comunication and collaboration skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Application services:

• Examination of product samples and consultation of approved external resources/ institutes for examination of defective samples including conclusive reporting towards the source of the inquiry.
• Given expertise and responsibility within AWCE for definition and maintenance of closure profile (CAN), capping and processing conditions documentation (CPG)
• Perform process evaluation/optimisation measures (e.g. pressure, temperature measurement, tap out, etc.) and line analysis at the customer
• Continuous control and improvement of weaknesses of the closure system in close co-operation with related SWCEA departments.
• Continuous contribution to the expansion of know how of the department of packaging performance/food technological services via open communication and data maintenance into related IT systems.

Project Management:

• Initiate and support SWCEA trial orders for improvement and optimization of the product and of adapted/new processing conditions.
• Independent support of product related customer projects in close co-operation with the manager SWCEA product development
• Complaint handling support:
• Responsible for internal and external claim handling( as long as technological aspects are involved). Initiation of internal and external product examination, performance of short term customer visits for clarification of probable sources of problems, as well as short term conclusive reporting about the necessary corrective and preventive measures towards the responsible departments involved.

Capping machine installation and maintenance :

• Install capping machines and assist customers during trial run.
• Visits and provide regular servicing of capping machines.
• Recommend solution to problems encountered by customer related to capping machines; gives technical advise to customers to prevent occurrence of the problem.
• Prepares and submit report for every service visit made.
• Trains users of capping machines on the proper operation and maintenance of the machine.
• Assist customers in the process line layout for the maximum capping machine efficiency and easy maintenance.
• Attends to customer complaints, co-ordinate it with the concerned department or conduct own test to solve the problem.
• Overhaul and recondition old capping machines.
• Updates selling price of capping machine, auxiliaries and spare parts
• Updates database of customers with capping machine and other auxiliary equipment.

Other ad hoc tasks:

• Maintenance of general contact to product related packaging material/machine manufacturers.
• Independent information of superior about important issues of business related product-or process development/innovation encountered in the market.
• Capable of conducting training programs for customers regarding cap & capping applications, food processing and closure manufacturing.
