What they need

About the Role

Globe Express Services (GES) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Customs Brokerage Operations Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support to its U.S. customs brokerage team.

This fully remote position is based in Colombia and focuses on supporting daily import operations, managing shipping documentation, coordinating client onboarding, maintaining shipment records, and assisting with customs brokerage administrative processes.

The ideal candidate has experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, international logistics, or import operations, along with strong English communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

You will work closely with the U.S. brokerage team to ensure documentation is complete, information is accurate, and operational processes run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open, organize, and maintain customs brokerage shipment files.
  • Review Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Arrival Notices, and other shipping documents for completeness.
  • Prepare and organize documentation packages for review and submission by the U.S. customs brokerage team.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records, tracking spreadsheets, and operational reports.
  • Assist with billing activities and administrative follow-up on completed shipments.
  • Support client onboarding by collecting and organizing importer information, customs bonds, and required documentation.
  • Monitor customs bond renewal dates and follow up with surety companies regarding renewal status.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to obtain missing documents or information.
  • Track multiple shipments and administrative deadlines simultaneously.
  • Identify documentation discrepancies and escalate compliance-related questions to the appropriate U.S. team member.
  • Support continuous accuracy and efficiency in day-to-day brokerage operations.

Important Role Clarification

  • Import admissibility
  • Customs bond requirements
  • Other matters requiring specialized customs compliance judgment

These decisions remain the responsibility of the authorized U.S. brokerage team.
