Customs Clearance Clerk

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Officer to handle customs clearance for import and export shipments. The successful candidate will prepare shipping documents, coordinate with customs authorities and logistics partners, and help ensure shipments are cleared accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit customs declarations and supporting documents.
• Check commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading
• Verify shipment classifications, declared values, and applicable duties and taxes.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders, transport companies, and customers.
• Arrange customs inspections and follow up on shipment release.
• Identify missing documents and resolve clearance issues promptly.
• Follow applicable customs procedures and import/export requirements.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update customers and management on clearance progress.
• Help reduce avoidable delays, storage charges, and demurrage costs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or logistics.
• Good knowledge of local customs procedures and shipping documentation.
• Experience using customs declaration systems and online portals.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage several shipments at once.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and email.
• Relevant qualifications or customs clearance certifications are an advantage.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
