Shift: Mon - Fri, 3 days in office, 2 days WFH, 11am-8pm
We're excited to be partnering with a growing global aviation and aerospace business that supplies aircraft components to customers across multiple international markets. As the business continues to expand its global footprint, they are looking to strengthen their Customs Compliance function with the appointment of a Customs Compliance Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity for a customs professional looking to take ownership of end-to-end customs compliance activities within a fast-paced international environment. Working closely with logistics, warehouse, finance and external customs brokers, you'll play a key role in ensuring imports and exports remain compliant, efficient and cost-effective across multiple regions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage customs compliance activities across multiple regions, ensuring accurate tariff classification, customs processes and supporting documentation are maintained
- Determine and apply the correct commodity codes, preferential origin requirements and duty/VAT treatment for international shipments
- Act as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, supporting customs clearances, resolving queries and monitoring performance against agreed service levels
- Monitor and reconcile duty deferment accounts and customs-related costs, working closely with finance teams to investigate discrepancies and support audits
- Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain stock accuracy, inventory integrity and customs compliance across all stock movements
- Keep up to date with changes in customs regulations, trade agreements and compliance requirements, implementing process updates where required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance customs processes, broker performance and operational compliance across the business
In order to be successful:
- Previous experience in customs compliance, international trade, freight forwarding, import/export administration or a similar customs-focused role (sea shipments/ ocean freight)
- Strong understanding of tariff classification, customs procedures, preferential origin and duty/VAT requirements
- Experience working cross-functionally with logistics, warehouse, finance and operational teams, alongside external customs brokers or suppliers
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
