What they need
The Customs Declarant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, classification, and declaration of imported goods in compliance with Bureau of Customs (BOC) regulations. The role involves tariff classification, duty and tax computation, permit verification, and maintaining updated knowledge of customs-related issuances to support efficient import processing.
- Classifies commodities according to type and applicable tariff codes.
- Computes estimated duties and taxes in accordance with customs laws and regulations.
- Provides tariff consultancy and guidance to internal teams when needed.
- Monitors and updates the department on new BOC memos, issuances, and regulatory changes.
- Reviews, organizes, and safely keeps customs documents and records for compliance and audit purposes.
- Checks and verifies all required permits, certifications, and clearances needed for imported items with relevant government agencies.
