What they need
- Prepare and submit import/export declarations.
- Review invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, permits, and other shipping documents.
- Determine the correct HS/AHTN tariff classification.
- Compute or review customs duties, VAT, and other applicable taxes/charges.
- Lodge declarations through BOC electronic systems/VASP.
- Monitor customs assessment, examination, and cargo release.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, BOC, shipping lines, freight forwarders, clients, trucking companies, and government agencies.
- Follow up delayed shipments and resolve customs-clearance issues.
- Maintain complete records of customs transactions.
- Keep up with changes in customs laws, tariffs, and procedures.
