Customs Declarant

About the role

The Customs Declarant manages the transit of goods across borders by handling clearance documents, calculating duties and taxes, and acting as a bridge between the company and customs authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate import and export declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Assign correct Harmonized System (HS) codes and determine proper tariffs and taxes for goods.
• Ensure all shipments comply with the rules of the Bureau of Customs or local regulatory bodies, securing necessary permits and licenses.
• Track shipment statuses and liaise with freight forwarders, logistics teams, and customs officers to resolve clearance delays.
• Maintain organized logs of all customs transactions for auditing and legal compliance.

About you

• Graduate of Customs Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous background in freight forwarding, import/export operations, or customs brokerage.
• Familiarity with customs laws, tariff classifications, and electronic customs processing systems.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict shipping deadlines.
