Customs Entry Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Entry Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for providing a high level of customer service for customs brokerage and freight forwarding. They will manage key accounts to ensure timely release and movement of their shipments while assisting the management team with workflow between company accounts.

The individual in this role will have in-depth knowledge of customs and other government agencies as well as proven experience working with customs entry, freight forwarding, and customer service.

Duties

• Process customs entries in accordance with U.S. Customs and other government agencies. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all documentation including ISF filing.
• Proactively organize, coordinate, and monitor import/export shipments through communication with service providers and overseas agents.
• Anticipate and resolve issues impacting the release or movement of shipments. Review entry documents and resolve missing or incomplete information.
• Ensure compliance with all CAF Worldwide Inc. policies and procedures including all systems requirements. Adhere to all U.S. and government shipping regulations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and account management; provide timely information to customers regarding their shipments, including but not limited to, rates, shipment tracking, delivery notification, and invoicing based on customer specifications.
• Document, investigate, and resolve all customer concerns with immediacy.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-4 years of customs entry writing and freight forwarding experience
• Proficient in HTS classification and familiarity with the harmonized tariff system
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Suite)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service position in a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree
• Customs Broker License
• Experience with Descartes/QuestaWeb

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
