This role works closely with customers, internal operations teams, and U.S. government agencies such as CBP, FDA, and USDA. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and interested in building a career in logistics and international trade. You’ll receive training and support from a collaborative team while gradually taking on increased responsibility as you grow in the role.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities-

  • Collect and review commercial documents from clients and partners for completeness and accuracy
  • Enter shipment and customs data into Steam’s systems
  • Submit customs entries in advance of port arrival to support timely cargo release
  • Coordinate with internal Operations and Drayage teams to address holds, exams, or agency requirements
  • Communicate with CBP, FDA, USDA, FWS, DHS, and other agencies as needed
  • Assist with Post Summary Corrections (PSCs) under team guidance
  • Support client onboarding calls and help explain Steam’s customs clearance process
  • Help maintain HTS classifications, product records, and country‑of‑origin information
  • Prepare and issue Delivery Orders (D/O’s) for drayage partners and track shipments through final delivery
  • Assist with freight and terminal payments to help avoid unnecessary delays or storage charges
  • Support audits and internal reviews to maintain a strong culture of compliance

Qualifications-

  • High attention to detail with strong data entry and document review skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of professional work experience in any industry
  • Interest in logistics, supply chain, international trade, or compliance
  • Previous experience in logistics or freight forwarding is a plus, but not required
  • Comfortable working in a fully digital environment using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a compliance related profession

About Steam-

Steam Logistics was founded in 2012 to tackle the most strategic challenge many companies face: how to align the supply chain so goods move efficiently, quickly, and economically. As a full-service provider, we offer end-to-end services to help our customers move commodities around the world, from their origin point to their destination. We’ve rethought the brokerage paradigm and are innovation leaders in our space, looking for the right people to join us as we scale. We are extraordinarily proud of the company we’ve built so far. Our people are Steam’s biggest competitive advantage, and we’ll continue investing in our people-first culture.

We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates' personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers. All recruiting email communications will always come from the steamlogistics.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Steam via other sources should be ignored.

Steam Logistics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, genetic information, disability or protected veteran status.

If you are unable to apply online due to a disability, contact recruiting at [email protected].
