JOB DESCRIPTION – CUTTER

Position: Cutter / Cutting Machine Operator

Reporting To: Production Manager / Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Cutter is responsible for operating the cutting machine and accurately cutting printed paper, board and other materials according to job specifications, ensuring proper size, accuracy, quality and minimum material wastage.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the assigned cutting machine safely and efficiently.
• Check the job card and cutting specifications before starting the job.
• Verify paper/board size, quantity and cutting requirements.
• Set cutting size and machine settings accurately according to the job specification.
• Check the printed material for proper alignment before cutting.
• Ensure accurate cutting, sizing and squareness of the material.
• Conduct regular quality checks during the cutting process.
• Minimize paper/board wastage and avoid unnecessary rework.
• Ensure the correct quantity is processed for each job.
• Identify and report cutting defects, machine problems or quality issues.
• Coordinate with the Planning, Printing, Production, QC and Post-Press teams regarding job requirements.
• Maintain proper records of production quantity and wastage.
• Keep the cutting machine and surrounding work area clean and organized.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the machine.
• Follow all machine safety procedures and company safety rules.
• Handle printed materials carefully to prevent damage.
• Complete assigned jobs according to the production schedule.
• Support urgent and priority jobs when required.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Production Manager/Supervisor.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 3**+ years of experience** as a Cutter / Cutting Machine Operator.
• Experience in commercial printing or packaging printing is preferred.
• Good knowledge of paper/board cutting processes.
• Ability to understand job cards and cutting measurements.
• Good knowledge of cutting machine settings and operation.
• Good measurement and accuracy skills.
• Ability to identify common cutting defects.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work according to production targets and deadlines.
• Good teamwork and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts when required

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
