Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance on construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting welding activities, reviewing construction plans and specifications, and verifying adherence to building codes and safety regulations. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of welding processes and completed welds on construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Review construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to interpret welding requirements and verify alignment with project standards.
• Perform quality control checks during various phases of construction, including site inspections and data collection to monitor progress and identify potential issues early.
• Assess construction materials, techniques, and workmanship to ensure adherence to established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with construction management teams to review contracts, construction specifications, and regulatory compliance documents.
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, documentation of non-conformances, and records of corrective actions taken during the project lifecycle.
• Support public works construction projects by analyzing building code compliance, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring adherence to construction regulations throughout the project duration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure or public works setting with a focus on quality control and inspection.
• Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) from an accredited organization such as AWS (American Welding Society).
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, schematics, blueprints reading, and interpreting technical drawings related to pipelines and structural steel.
• Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, building code analysis, and construction regulations governing public infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for report writing, data collection, and documentation purposes.
• Experience conducting construction site inspections with an emphasis on safety regulations and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analysis skills for evaluating welding quality, schematics interpretation, and identifying potential issues before they escalate.
• Ability to work effectively on-site at construction locations while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Pay: $26.21 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23.0 – 35.0 per week
