What they need

Help create welcoming, inclusive library experiences across the City of PAE

We’re looking for a passionate customer service professional to join our Libraries team as a Library Officer – Customer Experience.

This is a Full Time Fixed Term Contract until August 2027.

About Us

At the City of Port Adelaide Enfield (PAE), we’re building a welcoming, liveable city, made by people.

Our focus is on community, our economy, environmental sustainability and building high-quality places for people to enjoy. We’re on an ambitious trajectory, but our organisation is up for the challenge.

At PAE, we’re involved in all sorts of things - major construction through to environmental management, organising events, social infrastructure planning, and library services. We are proud of offering a wide range of accessible services and programs to our community.

Our libraries are more than places to borrow books. They are welcoming community spaces where people connect, learn, access support, discover new ideas and feel part of their local community.

If you enjoy helping people, solving problems and creating positive customer experiences, this role is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.

Now’s a great time to be part of PAE.

About the Role

As a Library Officer – Customer Experience, you’ll be one of the friendly faces supporting customers across our library locations. You’ll help deliver accessible, inclusive and responsive services that support literacy, learning, digital confidence and community wellbeing.

  • Create positive, welcoming and inclusive experiences for library customers across the City of PAE.
  • Support customers to access information, resources, programs, technology and lifelong learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to library programs, outreach activities, community spaces, room bookings and Home Library Service delivery.
  • Help keep our library spaces safe, accessible and well-presented for customers, programs, events and displays.

About You

You’ll be a calm, capable and customer-focused person who communicates clearly, listens actively and brings patience, empathy and professionalism to every interaction. You’ll be confident using digital technology and supporting others to build their skills. A Diploma or Certificate in Library Studies and Information Services, or equivalent experience, is desirable. You’ll also hold, or be willing to obtain, the required Working with Children Check and Child Safe Environments Training, and hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence.

More information can be found in the Position Description located below.

This is a Level 2 role with a current salary of $77,269 per annum plus superannuation

At PAE, our values guide us to work together, strive for improvement, and make a positive impact in our community. We seek people who share these values.#bettertogether #growandimprove #makeadifference.

We value diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
