CxA Engineer (Data Center) – Southeast Asia Based

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center CxA (Commissioning) Engineer to join our team and support data center projects across Southeast Asia.

This role will be responsible for data center design review, construction coordination, testing, commissioning, technical consulting, and project delivery. The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on experience in data center commissioning and CxA projects, with strong communication skills and the ability to work with local and international project teams.

Candidates with overseas data center project experience and familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier Certification will have a strong advantage.

Location

Southeast Asia – Local candidates preferred

Travel to project sites within Southeast Asia will be required.

Language Requirements

• English – Must have: Full professional working proficiency for daily communication, technical discussions, meetings, and technical report writing.
• Local Language (Malay/Thai/Bahasa Indonesia) – Must have: Proficiency in the local language relevant to the project location.
• Mandarin – Advantage: Ability to understand and communicate in Chinese is an added advantage but not mandatory.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data center projects, with exposure to design review, construction supervision, system testing, commissioning, or project delivery.
• Hands-on experience in data center CxA / commissioning is highly preferred.
• Experience in data center technical consulting, construction management, or project delivery management is a strong advantage.
• Prior experience in independently or collaboratively delivering overseas data center CxA / commissioning projects will be highly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of data center electrical, HVAC, and supporting critical systems.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier Certification standards and certification processes is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, and project management skills.
• Able to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and cross-border project teams.
• Willing to travel and work at overseas project sites when required.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Commissioning & Testing

• Lead and support the testing, commissioning, verification, and acceptance of data center electrical, HVAC, and supporting systems.
• Review commissioning procedures, test plans, method statements, and related technical documentation.
• Identify technical issues during testing and commissioning and coordinate corrective actions.

Design & Construction Coordination

• Conduct data center design reviews and provide technical input to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Monitor construction progress and provide on-site technical guidance during installation and testing.
• Coordinate with contractors and project teams to resolve technical and construction-related issues.

Project Delivery & Documentation

• Prepare and review commissioning plans, testing reports, inspection records, technical reports, and project handover documentation.
• Support project delivery and ensure commissioning activities are completed according to project schedules and requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates to clients and internal management.

Uptime Tier Certification

• Support preparation for Uptime Institute Tier Certification projects.
• Coordinate site audit activities and assist with technical documentation and certification requirements.
• Support rectification and close-out of issues identified during certification or audit activities.

Client & Cross-Border Coordination

• Coordinate with local construction teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and cross-border project teams.
• Communicate technical requirements and resolve on-site technical issues effectively.
• Support smooth project execution and successful handover.
