Cyber Security Architect | Security Officer

About The Role We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect | Security Officer to design and implement cybersecurity solutions, manage security risks and support compliance across customer communications infrastructure and industrial systems.

This role combines hands-on security architecture with risk management, project delivery and industry accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cybersecurity solutions for mission-critical networks and infrastructure.
• Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments and audits, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Develop security policies, procedures and technical controls.
• Support threat monitoring, detection, incident response and recovery.
• Assess security maturity and support compliance with ISO 27001, Essential Eight, Cyber Essentials and DISP requirements.
• Apply security principles across industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT) and communications networks.
• Work with customers, internal teams and external partners to strengthen security controls.
• Lead cybersecurity projects and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.

About you You will bring:

• A degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or a related discipline.
• At least five years' experience in cybersecurity design and five years' experience in communications or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of mission-critical networks, ICS/OT security, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, RTUs and industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC and DNP3.
• Experience with identity and access management, cloud security, firewalls, intrusion detection, endpoint protection, encryption and SIEM platforms.
• Experience with ISO 27001 risk and gap assessments and Essential Eight maturity assessments.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and project delivery skills.
• A commitment to workplace safety and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Desirable: CISSP, CISA, CISM or ISO 27001 Auditor certification, plus experience with Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus or DISP accreditation.
