Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber Security Engineer- Permanent- Hybrid County Cavan - Upto €80,000

WeDo Tech are recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing cyber security team within a large, fast-moving organisation.

This role suits someone with strong hands-on security experience who wants to move further into senior engineering and architecture. You'll have real ownership, identifying security gaps, shaping improvements and working with teams across the business to deliver them.

Responsibilities

• Identify security gaps and proactively develop solutions.
• Lead security improvement projects through to implementation.
• Review infrastructure, network and cloud changes from a security perspective.
• Support security architecture reviews and threat modelling.
• Improve security controls across the organisation.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation.
• Own new security initiatives and become a subject matter expert.
• Work with technical and business teams to deliver practical security improvements.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on cyber security or security engineering experience.
• Proven track record of identifying security gaps and implementing solutions.
• Experience delivering security improvement or architecture projects.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking and cloud security.
• Experience across security monitoring, endpoint security and vulnerability management.
• Good understanding of security frameworks and best practice.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A practical approach to balancing security requirements with business needs.
• An understanding of AI Governance and security measures would be beneficial
