Cyber Security Engineer – Job Description

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts, incidents, and potential threats.
• Identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security measures.
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis.
• Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents and threats.
• Monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for suspicious activity.
• Work with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security tools.
• Support incident response, threat detection, and security investigations.
• Conduct security audits and maintain security documentation.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to improve overall security posture.
• Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of network security, information security, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, firewalls, and network protocols.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Understanding of common vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10.
• Basic knowledge of incident response and threat analysis.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Qualys, Nessus, or Wireshark.
• Knowledge of cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with penetration testing and ethical hacking concepts.
• Knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CEH, CySA+, or CISSP are an advantage.

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/B.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Relevant cybersecurity experience preferred.

Pay: ₹343,250.31 - ₹1,661,323.11 per year
