Job Title: Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Silver Spring, MD; Washington, DC; or Atlanta, GA

Work Model: Hybrid preferred.

Pay rate: $105/hr on W2 all-inclusive

Schedule: 5 days/week, 40 hours; no OT; possible on-call.

Duration: 6-month contract; possible extension.

About the Role:

The Security Engineering team supports global information and content security functions by deploying, managing, and maintaining shared, reliable, extensible security platforms. This role blends security and systems engineering to ensure business processes are configured correctly, and security best practices are designed and implemented.

Responsibilities:

• Implement design reviews to evaluate security controls.
• Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance security posture.
• Build and/or manage enterprise security platforms effectively (SaaS, on-prem, cloud).
• Plan, design, engineer, and implement security-related technologies.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Conduct security audits and assessments.
• Perform host and OS hardening, auditing, monitoring, and logging.
• Research emerging security technologies.
• Prepare, document, and maintain SOPs and protocols.
• Cross-train and mentor team members.
• Communicate security goals and vision across management levels.

Must-Have Skills:

• Advanced cybersecurity technology in complex environments—8+ years; hands-on security engineering; building, designing, and maintaining enterprise security tools.
• Scripting — 8+ years (Python, Go, or equivalent).
• Automation — 5+ years (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Linux—8+ years; ability to construct and maintain complex network infrastructures.

Technology Requirements:

• SIEM/SOAR, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management, anomaly detection, cloud analysis.
• Brinqa vulnerability management platform and Groovy programming.
• Scripting (Python or equivalent)
• AWS public cloud.

Nice to Have:

• CISSP, Splunk Admin, AWS Solution Architect.
• Media/entertainment or distributed global network experience.

Soft Skills:

• Hands-on networking and computing system architectures, especially security aspects.
• Understanding information security principles, techniques, policy frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks and their impact on architecture design/review.
