Cyber Security Engineer (Defence)

We are working with a leading engineering and technology consultancy supporting complex security-critical projects across the German defence sector.

They are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with a strong background in system hardening, infrastructure security and BSI standards to work across highly secure IT environments.

The Role

• Hardening Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments in line with BSI and Cert-BW requirements
• Developing and implementing security policies, procedures and hardening measures
• Automating security and hardening processes using Bash and PowerShell
• Securing and managing virtualised environments
• Hardening Active Directory environments
• Configuring and managing firewalls and network security technologies
• Conducting security assessments and audits
• Identifying vulnerabilities and implementing remediation measures
• Working closely with technical teams, project stakeholders and customers on wider security strategy

Your Profile

• Experience within IT Security, Cyber Security or System Administration
• Strong knowledge of Linux RHEL and/or Windows environments
• Experience with BSI security standards and hardening requirements
• Bash and/or PowerShell scripting experience
• Experience working with virtualised environments
• Knowledge of Active Directory
• Experience with firewalls and network security, ideally Cisco
• Very good German language skills
• Willingness to undergo security clearance
• Willingness to travel within Germany
