Duties

• Set up, operate, and monitor cylindrical grinding machines to produce precise metal components according to technical specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to determine machining requirements.
• Perform routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools to verify dimensions and tolerances as low as 0.0002".
• Adjust machine settings based on measurements and quality feedback to optimize performance and ensure consistent output.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation and material handling.
• Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives and assembly processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, and operating cylindrical grinders.
• Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for precise machining.
• Math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, and machine adjustments.
• Understanding of manufacturing principles including lean manufacturing practices and quality control standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot manual cylindrical grinders and mechanical issues efficiently.
