Damp Surveyor

Damp Surveyor with a small Company. £50k+

Head office - Uxbridge (minimal attendance)

Patch - London and surrounding areas

You will carry out property surveys, identify the causes of defects and prepare detailed reports, scopes of work and quotations. Working directly with customers and our delivery teams, you will help clients understand their options and ensure proposed works are accurately specified.

This role suits someone who takes pride in getting the diagnosis right, building trust with customers and producing scopes that our site teams can confidently deliver.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough surveys for damp, mould, condensation, timber decay and associated building defects, including waterproofing assessments where appropriate.
• Investigate underlying causes using suitable diagnostic equipment, supported by photographs, measurements and detailed site notes.
• Produce clear, accurate reports explaining findings and recommending proportionate remedial works.
• Prepare comprehensive scopes of work and quotations, clearly identifying requirements, access arrangements and any limitations or further investigations needed.
• Explain findings sensitively and professionally, recognising customers’ concerns about their homes.
• Present Clove Preservation’s services confidently and follow up quotations to convert suitable enquiries into confirmed projects.
• Provide accurate handovers to operations and site teams so that agreed works can be delivered efficiently.
• Liaise with clients, colleagues, operatives, suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical queries.
• Provide technical support and undertake follow-up inspections where required.
• Maintain accurate customer records, survey notes and quotation updates using company systems.
• Follow relevant industry standards, health and safety procedures and company requirements.
• Keep surveying equipment maintained and calibrated as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Proven experience surveying damp, mould, condensation and timber defects in properties.
• Sound knowledge of building construction, moisture movement and appropriate remedial treatments.
• Ability to distinguish between potential causes of damp and recognise when further investigation is needed.
• Experience preparing detailed technical reports, scopes of work and quotations.
• Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical findings in straightforward language.
• Commercial awareness and a confident, professional approach to sales.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage appointments and follow-ups independently.
• Confidence using surveying equipment, reporting software and customer management systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between appointments.
