Dance Acro Teacher

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Dance Acrobatics / Tumbling Coach to lead our Wednesday after-school acro classes.

We are not a gymnastics gym. Our acro programme is designed to complement and support our dance and cheerleading programmes, helping students develop safe, confident tumbling and acrobatic skills that can be incorporated into routines. Catering for students on recreational and also competitive pathways.

The role

You’ll lead structured and engaging acro sessions, developing students’ strength, flexibility, technique and confidence while progressing skills safely.

Our programme includes tumbling skills through to aerials, handsprings and related progressions, so applicants must hold a recognised qualification relevant to acrobatics/tumbling that covers or supports the level of skills being taught.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience teaching or coaching acrobatics/tumbling
• Holds an appropriate acrobatics, tumbling or equivalent coaching qualification
• Is confident teaching safe progressions towards skills including aerials and handsprings
• Understands appropriate spotting, progressions and safe practice
• Has experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Can create an inclusive, encouraging and supportive learning environment
• Is reliable, professional and confident managing groups of children
• Is available to teach Wednesday after school into the evening

Safeguarding & compliance

The successful candidate must already hold, or be willing and able to obtain within the first six weeks of appointment:

• An appropriate Safeguarding qualification
• An appropriate First Aid qualification
• An Enhanced DBS check
• Any other documentation required for working safely with children within our setting

The relevant acrobatics/tumbling coaching qualification is essential due to the level of skills included within the programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a coach who loves acrobatics and tumbling and understands how these skills can support dancers and cheerleaders – while keeping safe technique, appropriate progression and individual development at the heart of every class.

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
