As a Dance Instructor with Hanover Park Park District, you'll help participants develop dance skills, confidence, coordination, and a love of movement in a fun and supportive environment. You'll teach engaging classes, create age-appropriate choreography, and help students prepare for performances, including our dance showcases. Compensation & Perks

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Schedule & Hours:

• Flexible schedule based on program offerings and enrollment
• Classes are typically held during evenings and weekends
• Hours may be as few as 2 hours per week, with opportunities for additional instructional hours
• Additional hours may be available for rehearsals, performances, special events, and future program expansion

What You'll Do

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate dance classes for youth participants.
• Teach dance fundamentals, technique, rhythm, musicality, coordination, and performance skills.
• Create and teach choreography appropriate for participant ages and abilities.
• Prepare students for rehearsals and performances, including the Park District's annual dance showcase.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt instruction to accommodate varying skill levels and learning styles.
• Communicate professionally with participants, parents, and Park District staff.
• Maintain attendance records and ensure participant safety at all times.
• Follow Park District policies, procedures, and program expectations.

What We're Looking For

• Previous dance training, teaching experience, or demonstrated proficiency in one or more dance disciplines.
• Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or working with youth preferred.
• Knowledge of dance technique, choreography, and performance preparation.
• Ability to teach participants with varying skill levels and abilities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Positive, dependable, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Park District staff.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, rehearsals, and showcase events as scheduled.
