What they need

Data Administrator

Fixed Term – One Year | 35 hours per week

Roderique Hope Trust is looking for a highly organised and detail focused Data Administrator to join our team.

Roderique Hope Trust is a local Taranaki housing charity providing a range of housing and social support services across the region, including Transitional Housing, Sustaining Tenancies, Emergency Housing, Community Connector Services, the Ready to Rent programme and the Taranaki Housing Pathways Initiative.

Our work is grounded in compassion, integrity, respect and collaboration. We believe everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and understanding and to have the opportunity to access safe, stable housing.

About the role

The Taranaki Housing Pathways Initiative is a regionally coordinated outreach and housing support service working with individuals and whānau experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity or at risk of losing their housing.

The Data Administrator plays an important role in supporting the effective delivery of this initiative through accurate data management, quality administration, reporting and information coordination.

Working closely with the Outreach Navigators, Housing Coordinator and General Manager, you will ensure information is accurate, systems are well maintained and the team has the information it needs to support coordinated housing responses across Taranaki.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working with information, values accuracy and confidentiality and can turn data into meaningful information that supports decision making, service improvement and better housing outcomes.

What you will be responsible for –

Data management and administration

  • Maintain the regional housing needs register and ensure client, referral, assessment, housing outcome and support information is accurate, complete and up to date.
  • Monitor data quality, identify gaps or inconsistencies and maintain accurate client management systems, databases and electronic records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Housing Pathways team, including referrals, enquiries, correspondence, documentation and meeting coordination.
  • Develop and maintain efficient administrative and information management processes.

Reporting and analysis

  • Prepare regular reports, dashboards and data summaries for management, funders and partner agencies.
  • Analyse trends relating to homelessness, housing insecurity and housing outcomes across Taranaki.
  • Support evidence based reporting, evaluation, regional planning, funding applications and service improvement.

Information coordination

  • Coordinate information flow between the Outreach Navigators, Housing Coordinator and partner agencies to support timely and effective service delivery.
  • Support appropriate information sharing in accordance with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of meetings, referrals, actions and outcomes while ensuring privacy and confidentiality requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data, information management and administrative systems.

About you

This role requires someone who is highly organised, analytical, reliable and detail focused, with a genuine interest in using information to support better outcomes for people and communities.

You will understand that good data is more than numbers. Accurate and meaningful information helps us understand what is happening across our region, identify gaps, measure outcomes and make informed decisions about how we respond to housing need.

We are looking for someone who can -

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Work confidently with data, databases and information systems.
  • Analyse information and present it clearly for different audiences.
  • Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Identify practical ways to improve systems and processes.
  • Work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and sound judgement.
  • Communicate clearly and build positive working relationships with colleagues and partner agencies.

Skills and experience

We are ideally looking for someone with experience in administration, data management, information systems, social services, health, housing or the community sector.

You will also have -

  • Experience with data collection, data entry, databases and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience analysing and reporting data to support service delivery, performance monitoring or continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience preparing reports and information for management and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An understanding of privacy, confidentiality and information sharing requirements.
  • An understanding of Tikanga Māori and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and alongside external partners.

Why join Roderique Hope Trust?

This is an opportunity to join a passionate and committed team working to improve housing outcomes for individuals and whānau across Taranaki.

As Data Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting a coordinated regional response to homelessness and housing insecurity. The information you manage and the systems you support will help our team understand housing need, measure outcomes, identify trends and make informed decisions about how we can better support whānau.

You will work alongside a dedicated team and a broad network of housing, government and community partners, contributing to meaningful work that has a direct impact on housing outcomes across Taranaki.

If you are someone who combines excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organisational skills, and you want your work to contribute to better housing outcomes for whānau, we would like to hear from you.

Essential requirements

Applicants must -

  • Hold New Zealand Residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
  • Hold a full and clean New Zealand Driver Licence.
  • Successfully pass a Police Vetting process.
  • Be willing to undertake ongoing professional and cultural development.
