What they need

Who you are

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytics, data, or finance-operations role
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large-dataset manipulation, reconciliation)
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working with relational databases
  • Demonstrated experience reconciling data across systems and investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for data accuracy
  • Ability to navigate imperfect data and adjust to a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Clear communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with healthcare data (medical or pharmacy claims, accounts receivable)
  • Familiarity with billing, revenue operations, or accounts-receivable processes
  • Experience building reporting or dashboards in a BI tool such as Looker or Tableau
  • Exposure to Google BigQuery, dbt, or similar data-warehouse tooling
  • Python or scripting experience (a plus, not a requirement)
  • Understanding of data governance, data-quality frameworks, or internal controls
  • You put people first and take care of yourself, your peers, and our patients equally
  • You have a strong sense of ownership and take initiative while empowering others to do the same
  • You prioritize positive impact over busy work
  • You have no ego and understand that everyone has something to bring to the table regardless of experience
  • You appreciate transparency and promote trust and empowerment through open access of information
  • You are evidence-based and prioritize data and science over seniority or dogma
  • You take risks and rapidly iterate

What the job involves

  • The Product Analytics team harnesses data to shape decisions across Virta. In this role you'll sit on Product Analytics and partner closely with our Client Group, turning messy, cross-system billing data into accurate, trustworthy answers that keep our client relationships running smoothly
  • As a Data Analyst supporting the Client Group, you'll own the data work behind accurate, reliable client billing. You'll start with a focused mandate: reconciling billing data across internal systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and building the checks and documentation that make billing accuracy repeatable and durable
  • As that foundation takes hold, your scope will grow into ongoing work reducing client billing friction—streamlining processes, improving data flows, and proactively surfacing issues before they reach a client
  • This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who is energized by getting numbers to tie out and by making a genuinely complex data landscape simpler
  • Reconcile and validate client billing data across multiple internal systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Build repeatable data-quality checks, reconciliations, and documentation that strengthen billing processes and controls
  • Partner directly with the Client Group to support timely, accurate client billing and to answer their most pressing data questions
  • Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analyses that surface billing trends, risks, and anomalies
  • Over time, drive down client billing friction through process improvement, better data flows, and automation
  • Collaborate across Product Analytics, the Client Group, Finance, and Engineering to understand data sources and improve the systems that feed billing
  • Operate within an agile framework, prioritizing effectively as needs and priorities shift
  • As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. Security and privacy training will be provided

Benefits

  • Remote-first work environment with ability to work from home
  • Flexible work hours & time off policy
  • Virta pays 99% of all employee health insurance premiums, and 75% for all dependents
  • Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave
  • Enroll in the Virta treatment for free and give a discount to friends and family
  • Internet, home office, learning & development stipends
  • Employee Resource Groups like Parents of Virta, Ladies of Virta, and Virtans for DEI
  • 401K and ROTH contribution opportunities
