DATA ANALYST

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team at METHODICAL ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. in Ipoh, Perak. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in analysing business and operational data, developing meaningful reports, and providing insights to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Collecting, cleaning, organising, and analysing data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and business insights

• Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for management and relevant departments

• Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing regular and ad-hoc analytical reports

• Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data used for reporting and analysis

• Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into meaningful data insights

• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, operational efficiency, and data quality

• Supporting management with data analysis for business planning, forecasting, and decision-making

• Assisting with automation and improvement of existing reporting and data management processes

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or in a similar data-focused role

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, formulas, data cleaning, and analysis

• Good knowledge of SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis

• Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau

• Ability to analyse large datasets and translate findings into clear and actionable business insights

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

• Experience with Python, Power Query, ERP systems, or reporting automation would be an added advantage
