Curious Cat Pty Ltd, trading as VetIQ, is an Australian veterinary technology company. Our VetIQ platform gives veterinary practices data-driven, actionable insights – performance analytics, benchmarking, client retention and opportunity analysis – so they can make better decisions and improve animal health outcomes.

The Role

As our Data Analyst, you will drive data-driven decision-making across the business and the VetIQ product. You will:

• Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights that support business objectives and product development
• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using modern data engineering practices
• Build and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems and improve operational efficiency
• Develop SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation
• Create reports, dashboards and visualisations that communicate findings to stakeholders
• Conduct statistical analysis and A/B testing to support product and business decisions
• Perform data quality assessments and implement data governance best practice
• Collaborate with product, engineering and operations teams to understand data requirements
• Stay current with emerging technologies in data science and AI/ML

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field (Master's preferred)
• 3+ years' experience in data analysis, data science or a related role
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, machine learning and automation
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server
• Experience with Databricks and Microsoft Fabric
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model deployment
• Strong foundation in statistics, data mining and predictive modelling
• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL and data pipeline architecture
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences
• Experience working in agile environments

Highly regarded: healthcare, veterinary or life sciences experience; Power BI or Tableau; Git; Azure; knowledge of data privacy and compliance requirements.

Remuneration

• $70,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience
• Full-time, permanent position, working remotely from anywhere in Australia (AEST/AEDT business hours)
