Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid)

We’re hiring a Data Analyst to support analytics work within a large marketplace group. You’ll handle reporting, visualisation and analysis for your team, working with stakeholders to define problems, set success metrics and turn data into clear recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of parts of data analytics solutions, taking business requirements from idea generation through to implementation with some supervision
• Work independently to consume data, prepare it for analysis and translate business problems into data stories, seeking guidance on more complex tasks
• Deliver work that informs business decisions for the product or business area your team covers
• Apply foundational data analysis and visualisation skills to answer business questions, building intuitive and insightful visualisations that reflect stakeholder needs
• Connect and collaborate with operational and project-based stakeholders under manager guidance, presenting insights in an accessible, business-friendly way
• Adopt existing internal data analytics approaches and build your technical skills when a more efficient method emerges
• Grow your craft skills while using data analytics to drive impact on well-defined business problems
• Support junior peers through knowledge sharing
• Understand the wider data ecosystem and how your work fits into it, and work with peers in related disciplines such as Data Engineering as needed
• Hold a high level understanding of your area’s goals (for example, its track or vertical)
• Ensure the quality of your own work through peer review

Required Skills

• Experience with reporting, data visualisation and analysis.
• Ability to manage stakeholders, largely autonomously and escalating complex scenarios when needed.
• Strong prioritisation skills, with a focus on business impact and managing expectations as requirements change.
• Ability to combine business understanding with knowledge of data, workflows, methods and tooling.
• Understanding of data quality and stability best practices.
• Comfortable adapting existing tooling and approaches to business and user needs.
