Data Analyst

About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support our commercial, procurement, logistics, and finance teams. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in Python, Power

BI, and SQL, with experience working in chemical trading, chemical distribution, or industrial commodities. You will transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive pricing decisions, operational efficiency, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modeling

• Build predictive models for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and customer behavior

using Python.

• Develop statistical analyses to support pricing strategies, margin improvement, and product

portfolio decisions.

• Conduct root cause analysis for operational inefficiencies, supply chain delays, and quality

deviations.

• Forecast supply and demand dynamics using historical trading datasets.
• Optimize pricing strategies using Python-based machine learning algorithms.
• Use optimization algorithms to improve route planning, stock replenishment, and warehouse

operations.

• Identify market anomalies and arbitrage opportunities across global regions.

2. Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for sales performance, procurement trends, logistics KPIs, and financial metrics.
• Automate reporting pipelines to ensure real time visibility of critical business indicators.
• Automate weekly market reports to replace manual spreadsheet processes.
• Integrate multi-source data into unified, real-time visual reports.

3. Data Engineering & Management

• Clean, transform, and structure large datasets from ERP systems, CRM platforms, and warehouse management systems.
• Build automated ETL workflows and data pipelines to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Manage data governance, quality checks, and documentation.

4. CrossFunctional Collaboration

• Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to identify analytical opportunities.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior management in clear, businessfocused narratives.
• Train internal teams on data literacy, dashboard usage, and analytical best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Python Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Pandas, Scikit-learn, NumPy, and Statsmodels.
• Power BI Mastery: Expert knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Database Management: Strong SQL skills for complex querying and data extraction.
• Advanced Tools: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and Git version control.

Domain Knowledge & Soft Skills

• Chemical Industry Familiarity: Understanding of chemical supply chains, logistics, and trading terms.
• Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate complex statistical outputs into plain business value.
• Communication: Strong presentation skills to explain data findings to non-technical teams.

Education & Experience

• Degree: Bachelors or Masters in Data Science, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, or Finance.
• Experience: 5+ years of data science experience, preferably in commodity trading, wholesale trading, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or logistics and supply chain companies.
