About HRA
Healthcare Retroactive Audits, Inc. is a 22-year-old revenue cycle management firm specializing in post-adjudication account recovery for hospital clients across the United States. We are a small, remote-first team that invests in modern tooling to do work that larger competitors cannot match in speed or precision.
The Role
We are hiring a Data Analyst with strong SQL skills and healthcare revenue cycle experience to join our team. You will work with hospital claims data, apply pricing logic to identify recovery opportunities, and partner with our analysts, clinical staff, and collectors to deliver results for our hospital clients.
This is a hands-on execution role. You will spend most of your time in SQL and in our internal systems, working with real claim-level data.
Location
Fully remote. We are currently hiring only from Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Applications from other states will not be considered at this time.
What You Will Do
- Write, read, and troubleshoot SQL scripts in a healthcare claims environment.
- Analyze claim-level data to identify discrepancies and recovery opportunities.
- Verify account data accuracy before advancing claims through the workflow.
- Flag data integrity issues and systemic patterns to management as soon as they are identified.
- Document findings clearly so that downstream team members have what they need to act.
- Partner across the team to escalate accounts that require additional review.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on SQL experience. You should be comfortable reading, writing, and debugging complex SQL independently.
- Working knowledge of healthcare institutional claims.
- Attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Clear written communication.
- Reliable self-direction. This is a fully remote role and we expect you to manage your work, meet deadlines, and escalate blockers proactively.
- Currently residing in Texas, Florida, or Georgia.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with automation tooling (Python, scripting, workflow automation).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools used in a professional context.
- Experience in a small-team environment where you have owned a workstream end-to-end.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a coding-only role. You will spend significant time with real claim data and real recovery decisions. Comfort with ambiguity, judgment under pressure, and ownership of outcomes matter as much as technical skill.
What We Offer
- Fully remote work (TX, FL, or GA).
- Competitive salary (details discussed during interview based on experience).
- Health benefits and paid time off.
- A small team where your work has visible impact and your voice matters.
- Modern tooling — we actively invest in making the work smarter, not harder.
- Direct access to leadership. We prefer substance over hierarchy.
How to Apply
Submit your resume through Indeed. In your cover note, briefly describe a SQL problem you solved in a healthcare context — what the problem was, how you approached it, and what the outcome was. This is more useful to us than a generic cover letter.
Pay: $62,400.00 per year
