What they need

About the Team

Go4 is a sports safety and intelligence platform. We place credentialed Athletic Trainers at events and venues. Every shift produces structured data: a verified credential check, a venue specific emergency action plan, and a clinical record filed on site. More than 26,000 Athletic Trainers work through Go4, serving more than 5,000 schools, colleges, leagues, and facilities across all 50 states. We work remotely and bring the whole company together in person four times a year.

The coverage is the service and the record is the asset. Go4 is becoming the authoritative record of who provided medical coverage, where, and to what standard. That record is the data layer that makes credentialing, governance, and insurance underwriting possible at scale.

We are building our first internal product and engineering organization to deliver V2 of the Go4 platform. V2 is not a rewrite of a side project. It is the evolution of a live, revenue generating platform into a modern suite of applications, services, and data.

About the Role

The Data Analyst owns commercial and business analytics at Go4. That means revenue by line, the Contract Services funnel, retention and cohort analysis, metro and marketplace performance, and the board dashboard that reports all of it.

This is not a reporting seat, though reporting is part of it. The job is to move from what happened to why it happened to what we should do about it, and to be the person leadership asks before making a commercial decision rather than after.

You will work alongside the Product Analyst, who owns V2 product instrumentation, launch measurement, and user behavior. The boundary is roughly this: they answer what users are doing inside the product, you answer whether the business is working. Both of you will need the same underlying data, so the two of you agree the definitions once and then everyone else uses them.

You report to the COO and work closely with Contract Services, the marketplace team, Finance, and the CEO ahead of each board meeting.

You would work alongside the Product Analyst, who owns V2 product instrumentation and user behavior, and with Contract Services, the marketplace team, and Finance. Go4's first internal product and engineering organization arrives at the same time, so the analytical foundations of the company are being laid in the same twelve months you join.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the monthly board dashboard: working Athletic Trainers, productive metros, fill rate, Contract Services book, contract retention, and the cash floor. Produce it, check it, and explain the movements before anyone has to ask.
  • Analyze revenue by line against plan, including the marketplace take rate, Contract Services, medical governance, and insurance, and explain variance in terms a board member can act on.
  • Own Contract Services funnel analysis: win rate by count and by revenue, account capture, lead source conversion, sales cycle, and pipeline quality.
  • Build and maintain retention and cohort analysis for Contract Services as the plan moves from 58% to 70% to 80%, and quantify what each point is worth.
  • Analyze marketplace and metro performance, including fill rate, time to first filled shift, revenue per job, and whether a new metro is tracking toward productivity before the day 90 stop rule fires.
  • Establish governed metric definitions for the whole company, agreed once with the Product Analyst and Finance, so that two teams never quote different numbers for the same thing in the same meeting.
  • Build reporting that people open without being asked, and retire the reports nobody reads.
  • Quantify the commercial cases leadership is weighing, including the pricing step that increases revenue per job and the metro economics behind the MSA Lead Program.
  • Support the monthly investor package with the operating metrics that sit alongside the financials, working with the Controller.
  • Use AI to do the work of a larger analytics function, and write down the queries and definitions so the work is repeatable rather than personal.

What the first year looks like:

We have already written the scorecard you would be reviewed against. It has four objectives, and they carry from this description into your 2027 performance review unchanged.

  • The board dashboard is owned, trusted, and early.

Six metrics produced and explained monthly, with movements understood before the meeting.

  • Governed definitions the whole company uses.

One version of each commercial metric, agreed with the Product Analyst and Finance.

  • Commercial analysis that changes decisions.

Funnel, cohort, retention, and metro analysis delivered with a recommendation.

  • The 2028 case tested rather than assumed.

The pricing step, the activation ramp, and the retention path checked against real data.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 2 or more years in analytics, business intelligence, revenue operations, or a strategy and operations role.
  • Write SQL comfortably and daily, against raw relational and transactional tables rather than a modeled layer somebody else prepared.
  • Have built funnel, cohort, and retention analysis that a commercial team actually used.
  • Can translate a vague business question into a measurable analysis, and then explain the answer to someone who does not work with data.
  • Have reported to or presented at an executive or board level, and know the difference between a number and a number someone can act on.
  • Are comfortable saying a number is wrong, including when it is a number leadership likes.
  • Have built reporting that survived you, with definitions written down and owned rather than living in a saved query.
  • Use AI in your current work and can describe specific workflows. We run on Claude, including direct access to the production database, and that leverage is why this is one seat rather than three.

Also valuable:

  • Experience in a marketplace, staffing, workforce, healthcare services, or other transaction-heavy business.
  • Experience with subscription or contract revenue, renewals, and the arithmetic of retention.
  • Python, dbt, a modern warehouse, or BI tooling. Specific vendors matter much less than analytical judgment.
  • Experience supporting a board package or an investor reporting cycle.
  • Experience working alongside a product analytics function without duplicating it.
