Data Analyst – Clinical Data & Business Intelligence

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst with strong experience in SQL, business intelligence, reporting, and clinical data. This individual will support a high-value initiative focused on transforming structured healthcare data into encounter-note-style documents that provide users with relevant encounter information in an accessible PDF format.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large and complex datasets, translating business requirements into analytical solutions, and building reports and visualizations that make healthcare data easier to understand and use. This role will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to improve access to encounter-level information, data quality, reporting, and overall usability.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
• Work with structured clinical and encounter data to support reporting and document-generation initiatives.
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI platforms.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries used to extract, cleanse, transform, and validate data from multiple sources.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Translate business questions and reporting needs into clear analytical solutions.
• Perform data validation and data quality assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Support data governance and quality initiatives across clinical and operational datasets.
• Use SQL, Excel, and BI tools to support operational reporting, analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams on data requirements and reporting solutions.
• Help improve the usability and accessibility of encounter-level information for end users.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve how structured healthcare data is presented and consumed.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL , including querying, data extraction, validation, and analysis.
• Experience working with Tableau, Power BI, or comparable business intelligence tools .
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience analyzing large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
• Experience working with clinical, healthcare, or encounter-level data .
• Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and reporting best practices.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into analytical and reporting solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating across business, data, and technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare data or analytics initiatives.
• Familiarity with clinical documentation, encounter data, or healthcare reporting.
• Experience working on projects that transform structured data into user-friendly reports, documents, or other outputs.
• Exposure to data governance and data quality initiatives.
• Experience developing dashboards and visualizations for business and operational stakeholders.
