How you’ll make an impact

Help shape the future of data within FCC's Financial Modelling team. Your day-to-day work will be focused on building and improving the data foundations that support forecasting, pricing, corporate planning and advanced analytics across the organization.

In this role, you'll design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and datasets using AWS technologies and modern data engineering practices and you'll help move, transform and prepare data so it can be used reliably by analysts, data scientists and business teams.

You'll work closely with modelers, data scientists, business experts and technical partners to understand data needs, develop solutions and improve how data is collected, managed and delivered. Your work will directly support better forecasting, planning and decision-making by ensuring teams have access to accurate, trusted and actionable data.

As the team continues to expand its data engineering capabilities, you'll have the opportunity to help support the adoption of modern data development approaches. You'll join a collaborative team that is evolving beyond traditional analytics and investing in the tools, processes and skills needed to build scalable data solutions for the future.

What you’ll do

  • Gather, structure and analyze large and complex datasets to uncover insights and support business decision-making

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data solutions, repositories and automated analytics processes

  • Build reliable and efficient data pipelines that collect, process and deliver high-quality data to analytics and business teams

  • Develop scalable ETL solutions while improving data performance, monitoring and governance practices

  • Develop, test and support data pipelines, integrations and automation solutions using modern programming languages and cloud technologies

  • Scrutinize data using analytical tools and programming languages to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement and quality assurance

  • Analyze data quality, perform data cleansing activities and maintain reliable, accurate and trusted data assets

  • Collaborate with business partners, developers, data engineers and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Monitor and improve data quality, governance and reporting processes to ensure data integrity and consistency

  • Automate manual processes and enhance existing analytics solutions to improve efficiency and user experience

  • Document technical specifications, development standards and business processes to support sustainable solutions

  • Research and evaluate new technologies, tools and methodologies that enhance data analytics and development capabilities

  • Build data processes by re-engineering SQL transformations and ensuring data integrity through comprehensive reporting-layer validation

  • Perform post-development data quality testing and reconciliation to ensure business and technical requirements are met

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Advanced proficiency in data management, data manipulation, and analytical tools, with the ability to transform complex datasets into meaningful business insights

  • Experience working with cloud-based data and analytics platforms, including AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3, and Step Functions

  • Knowledge of DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD methodologies, and automation frameworks to support efficient and scalable data solutions

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL across various platforms

  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or digital transformation initiatives

  • Professional certifications in cloud computing, data management, analytics, or related technologies are considered an asset
