Data Analyst - Intern

Most companies struggle with internal systems that do not communicate or reports that simply do not match reality. We step in to find the root cause of these process failures and fix them so the business can actually function.

The role We are currently supporting a client project based in Rabat, Morocco, where we are untangling complex operational data and modernizing their internal workflows. This Data Analyst - Intern position exists to help us audit these messy data sets and ensure the logic behind their reporting is sound. As this is a fully remote role, you will be coordinating with our senior practitioners to provide the technical support needed to stabilize our client's operations.

What you will do

• Review daily data logs to identify where automated reports are failing or producing inconsistent results.
• Clean and organize large spreadsheets that have become too bloated for the client team to manage effectively.
• Trace specific financial transactions through multiple software systems to find where the numbers begin to diverge.
• Update and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on the technical fixes we implement during the project.
• Assist senior consultants in building simple, reliable dashboards that replace manual tracking methods.
• Verify that new data routing logic is holding up after a system migration by running regular validation checks.
• Document the current state of a process before we start our cleanup work to provide a clear baseline for improvement.
• Support the team by pulling specific data sets required for weekly client updates and internal reviews.

What we are looking for

• A logical mind that enjoys solving puzzles and finding out exactly why a system is not performing as expected.
• Basic proficiency with Excel, including a solid understanding of how to use filters, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.
• Clear written communication skills for explaining technical issues and data discrepancies to people who may not be technical.
• Curiosity about how businesses actually operate behind the scenes and a desire to see how data flows through a company.
• The ability to work independently in a remote setting and stay focused on detailed, repetitive tasks without losing accuracy.
• An interest in data integrity and a natural dislike for sloppy, inconsistent, or poorly formatted reporting.
• A willingness to learn new tools and specialized software quickly as the needs of the Rabat project evolve.
• Availability to work full-time hours for the duration of the internship period.
