Data Analyst | Banking | APAC Migration

About the Role

Our client is well-known global bank worldwide who seeking a Data Migration Analyst to join the APAC Technology & Data Team, supporting regional integrationand technology transformation initiatives.

This role will focus on data migration planning, validation, reconciliation, governance, and issue management to ensure data is accurately migrated and controlled throughout the transition lifecycle. You will work closely with business users, technology teams, DevOps, and external stakeholders across APAC markets.

Responsibilities

Data Migration & Validation

• Support end-to-end data migration activities across M&A and transformation programmes.
• Analyse source and target data structures, mappings, data quality, volumes, and dependencies.
• Execute data validation, reconciliation, completeness, and quality checks.
• Support data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and migration testing activities.
• Compare pre- and post-migration datasets to identify discrepancies and data quality issues.
• Investigate migration defects, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
• Maintain migration documentation, validation evidence, defect logs, and approval records.
• Support dress rehearsals, cutover activities, and post-migration verification.

Governance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, information security, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain data inventories, mapping documents, lineage records, and migration control documentation.
• Support audit reviews, assurance activities, and risk assessments.
• Escalate risks, control gaps, and unresolved issues appropriately.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate migration runbooks, testing cycles, and cutover activities.
• Track actions, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions through to closure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Business, Technology, Security, and Operations teams.
• Translate technical findings into meaningful business impacts and recommendations.
• Provide regular status updates and reporting to project stakeholders and governance forums.

Requirement

• Proven experience in Data Migration, Data Analysis, Data Quality, Testing, or Technology Delivery.
• Strong SQL and data validation/reconciliation skills.
• Experience with data mapping, ETL processes, source-to-target transformations, and defect management.
• Ability to analyse large datasets and produce validation reports and migration evidence.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in project or change environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Exposure to M&A, business integration, or large-scale migration projects is highly desirable.
• Experience within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of ETL tools, cloud data platforms, Python, PowerShell, Excel, Power BI, Jira, or ServiceNow would be advantageous.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
