Role Description The Data Analyst role at LCAM-FSA is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting environmental chemistry research through data-driven insights. Day-to-day tasks include collecting, cleaning, and organizing experimental data from analytical instruments, as well as performing statistical analyses to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies. The Data Analyst will build and maintain data models that support studies on pollutant removal, catalysis efficiency, photochemical processes, and corrosion inhibition. The role involves preparing clear visualizations, dashboards, and reports for the research team, translating complex data into accessible findings for scientific publications and internal decision-making. Collaboration with chemists and researchers to improve data quality, refine experimental designs, and ensure reproducible analytical workflows is an essential component of this position.

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills and Data Analytics abilities to interpret complex experimental datasets and support research conclusions.
• Proficiency in Statistics and Data Modeling to design robust analyses, build predictive or descriptive models, and validate research results.
• Effective Communication skills to present data insights clearly, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to scientific documentation.
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, or similar), and familiarity with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
• Background in chemistry, environmental science, data science, or a related field; coursework or experience in analytical or molecular chemistry is an asset.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours, and meet research timelines with attention to detail and data integrity.
• Experience handling laboratory-generated data (e.g., spectroscopic, chromatographic, or electrochemical data) and understanding of basic experimental design is beneficial.
