Director of Data Analytics

Estimated Annual Salary 200000 to 260000 pre tax excluding bonuses and equity.

This director leads the analytics team and supports decision making in product, operations, and finance. When conversion rates decline, costs rise, or reports diverge, you will help the team identify the root causes, interpret supporting evidence, and determine areas that still need testing. You will need to be directly involved in critical or complex analytics work.

Responsibilities

Prioritize analytics with department leaders, assign tasks, and clarify scope and expected deliverables.

Investigate changes in acquisition, conversion, retention, and operational costs. Interpret performance trends and propose specific adjustments.

Establish consistent definitions for key metrics and resolve reporting discrepancies to ensure the team can work on the same data.

Collaborate with the data engineering team to resolve issues such as missing records, duplicates, and reporting delays, reducing manual preparation and verification.

Review critical analytics and experimental results, checking samples, hypotheses, and calculation methods before drawing conclusions.

Recruit and develop analysts, provide regular feedback, and help the team improve its analytical capabilities and business judgment.

Experience

Experience managing an analytics team, capable of delivering product, customer, or business performance analytics from initial requirements to final delivery.

Proficient in SQL, including the ability to write complex queries and review team code. Familiar with Python or R and tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Able to explain analytical results to business leaders, clearly explain data limitations, and provide reasonable recommendations when information is incomplete.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
