Data and AI Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Able to lead or actively participate in meetings, workshops and technical discussions in

English.

• Comfortable communicating directly with stakeholders from:

o Business functions.

o IT teams.

o Operational Technology and engineering functions.

o Data owners, process owners and subject-matter experts

• Able to explain complex technical topics in understandable business language.
• Challenge unclear requirements and propose pragmatic alternatives over implementing

predefined solutions.

• Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to move topics forward independently and

communicate risks or dependencies early.

• Product-oriented way of working, focusing on sustainable and reusable outcomes over

one-off technical implementations.

• Able to work collaboratively across platform, data, AI and business teams.

• Capable of producing concise technical documentation and ensuring that solutions can

be maintained by others.

• Specifically for the two roles joining the team - they need management skills, to be able

to upskill future colleagues and being able to transfer the business acumen won on our

RWE account.

• Support AI/ML projects by building robust data foundations and integrating relevant

models

Required Skills

• At least 3 years’ experience in AI Engineer role/position using Databricks, SQL, Python/PySpark, Delta Lake and data pipelines/workflows.

• Ability to design, build and optimise Data Products using a medallion approach:

o Bronze for source-specific raw data and history.

o Silver for a harmonised, source-agnostic and purpose-driven product contract.

o Gold for aggregations, views, metrics and consumption-specific outputs.

• data modelling, including grain, business keys, relationships, units, dimensions, facts and

reusable domain models.

• Unity Catalog, including ownership, descriptions, tags, lineage, access controls and

discoverability.

• Ability to improve data quality, freshness, trustworthiness and observability, including

automated checks and clear expectations for consumers.

• Ability to establish semantic information such as:

o Business terminology and definitions.

o Metrics and calculation logic.

o Relationships and join paths.

o Synonyms and commonly used business language.

o Clear descriptions, examples, units and intended usage.

• Hands-on capability to configure and continuously improve Databricks Genie, including:

o Selection and preparation of relevant tables and views.

o Instructions and business context.

o Example questions and trusted SQL queries.

o Benchmark question sets and expected results.

o Evaluation of answer accuracy, consistency and coverage.

o Regression testing when data models or instructions change.

o Analysis of unsuccessful questions and iterative improvement of the data and

semantic layer

Open to Filipino candidates located anywhere in the Philippines

Work Schedule: Normal shift (8AM – 5PM) / Mid-shift (12PM – 10PM)
