What they need

Data and Reporting Administrator – ScreenSouth

Ōtautahi Christchurch | 0.5–0.625 FTE (20-25 hours per week) | Permanent Position

At ScreenSouth, we support the delivery of national breast, cervical and bowel screening programmes across Waitaha Canterbury and wider Te Waipounamu. Our work contributes to reducing deaths from cancer through early detection and improving equitable screening outcomes for New Zealanders.

We are looking for an accurate, organised and solutions-focused Data and Reporting Administrator to join our Quality and Data Team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and people, and who wants their work to contribute to high-quality, equitable screening services.

About the role

Working within the Quality and Data Team, you will support data management, monitoring, reporting, audit and administrative activities, as well as selected projects. You will work closely with ScreenSouth teams, screening providers, BreastScreen Aotearoa and IT support partners to help ensure information is accurate, issues are followed through and systems operate effectively.

The role offers variety and responsibility, including:

·         Scheduled daily, weekly and monthly data monitoring and reporting

·         Ad hoc reporting, data quality checks and audit support

·         Supporting screening providers and sites with data entry and reporting issues

·         Coordinating and maintaining a register of IT support cases and change requests

·         Communicating database updates, software releases and system changes

·         Assisting with ScreenSouth IT projects, upgrades and issue resolution

·         Providing basic technical support, system guidance and training to staff and screening sites

·         Supporting health, safety and quality improvement activities.

About you

You are practical, dependable and highly attentive to detail. You can work confidently with confidential information, communicate clearly with a range of people and follow issues through to resolution. You are comfortable learning systems, solving problems and balancing scheduled work with emerging priorities.

You will bring:

·         Practical experience with data management systems and medical records systems

·         Strong report-generation skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

·         Good process, documentation, administration and problem-solving skills

·         Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders

·         Knowledge of privacy obligations and the secure handling of confidential data

·         Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach for different audiences

·         Self-motivation, sound time management and the ability to work accurately to strict timeframes

·         An understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori and improving outcomes for priority groups.

Experience with national breast screening programmes, project management, health-sector equity considerations, or intermediate to advanced Excel functions such as formulas, filters, pivot tables and data validation would be an advantage.

ScreenSouth’s culture and values

We are committed to fostering a workplace built on respect, trust, integrity and teamwork. We value diversity, support equitable health outcomes and are committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
