Data & Reporting Officer

At Barwon Community Legal Service (BCLS), we believe access to justice changes lives. For almost 40 years, we've supported people across the Barwon region through legal assistance, social support, advocacy and community education. We're now looking for a Data & Reporting Officer to help strengthen our reporting, business intelligence and data capability across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful insights that support service delivery, decision-making and community impact.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting organisational reporting, data management and business intelligence activities. You'll work across teams to ensure data quality, maintain reporting systems and deliver timely insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities

·         Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and visualisations using Power BI and related reporting tools.

·         Prepare operational, funding, performance and compliance reports.

·         Monitor data quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

·         Support organisational reporting systems, datasets and business intelligence solutions.

·         Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and reporting anomalies.

·         Assist with funding, accreditation and governance reporting requirements.

·         Provide support and guidance to staff regarding reporting processes and systems.

·         Develop user guides, templates and reporting resources.

·         Support the ongoing use and optimisation of Actionstep and other reporting platforms.

About you

You are naturally curious, highly organised and enjoy solving problems through data. You have strong technical skills but can also communicate complex information in a way that is clear and practical for non-technical stakeholders.

Ideally, you will bring:

·         Qualifications in data analytics, information management, business reporting, information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

·         Experience maintaining data management and reporting systems.

·         Strong experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or comparable reporting platforms.

·         Advanced Excel and reporting skills.

·         Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

·         Clear written and verbal communication skills.

·         The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Employment details

Classification: Level 4 + minimum 3% above award, dependent on experience. Confirm and insert the applicable award or enterprise agreement before publication.

Location: Level 1, 63 Thomson Street, Belmont VIC, with hybrid working arrangements by agreement.
