About the Role

PCMCI Quantum is looking for a Data Annotation Intern to support our AI and computer vision projects by labeling, organizing, collecting, and creating high-quality datasets. This role is ideal for an entry-level or early-career candidate interested in artificial intelligence who wants hands-on experience working on real-world computer vision systems.

The intern will work onsite at our Karachi office, closely with the CV Engineer, and contribute to the entire dataset preparation process, from sourcing and collecting raw data to annotating, validating, and organizing datasets for model training and evaluation. This may involve working with online data sources, capturing footage using our own cameras and props, and generating synthetic data using green screens and Simulation Software

Responsibilities

Data Annotation: Annotate images, videos, and other datasets according to project guidelines.

Dataset Creation: Help build and expand datasets tailored to the requirements of specific AI and computer vision projects.

Online Data Sourcing: Research and identify relevant online sources for images, videos, and other data required for model training, ensuring appropriate usage rights and compliance with applicable licensing terms.

In-House Data Collection: Capture original images and videos using company-provided or project-specific cameras, props, and recording setups to create custom datasets.

Synthetic Data Generation: Assist in generating training data using green screens, controlled environments, simulation software, and other data-generation techniques.

Data Quality Assurance: Review annotated data for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with project guidelines.

Dataset Organization: Maintain well-structured datasets, annotation files, folder hierarchies, and metadata.

Issue Reporting: Identify and report ambiguous cases, missing data, labeling errors, and inconsistencies to the CV Engineer.

Project Coordination: Follow technical instructions, annotation guidelines, and data collection requirements provided by the CV Engineer and project team.

Productivity and Deadlines: Maintain high-quality output while meeting assigned targets and project deadlines.

Continuous Improvement: Learn new annotation tools, data collection methods, and dataset preparation techniques as project requirements evolve.

Requirements

· Entry-level or early-career candidate; no prior professional experience required.

· Basic knowledge of, or a strong interest in, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer vision.

· Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and technical guidelines carefully.

· Basic computer skills and familiarity with online tools.

· Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently while maintaining data quality.

· Willingness to learn image and video annotation tools, dataset management practices, and data collection workflows.

· Must be based in Karachi and available to work onsite from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

· Must have a personal laptop.

· Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of an onsite team.
