Data Architect - Agentic AI Platform

This is a position suitable for passionate professionals who want to work for a leading European Insurance Group on a very flexible work schedule.

You will work as part of a multinational group with true, large, enterprise-wide systems, complex architectures and real life constraints (speed, performance, non-stop systems availability) and are going to be part of an agile team aimed at designing and implementing enterprise level solutions.

• Contract duration : permanent
• Schedule : full-time (8 hrs/day, Monday to Friday)

Your responsibilities

• Lead the data, ontology, and knowledge architecture for the Agentic AI Platform.
• Design domain ontologies and shared semantic models for insurance, claims, underwriting, documents, evidence, decisions, and related business concepts.
• Define data contracts, extraction schemas, taxonomies, metadata, lineage, and quality rules for knowledge and document processing.
• Develop the target architecture for knowledge graphs, vector and graph stores, semantic retrieval, and RAG-optimized data models.
• Harmonize reusable concepts across use cases and countries while allowing governed local extensions.
• Define standards and guidelines for RDF, OWL, SKOS, SHACL, SPARQL, graph modelling, and ontology lifecycle management where applicable.
• Provide technical leadership to Data/Ontology Engineers and collaborate with business domain experts and data governance teams.
• Ensure semantic assets support explainability, reuse, auditability, data protection, and cloud-independent evolution.

Required skills

• Several years of experience in enterprise data architecture, semantic architecture, knowledge graphs, ontology engineering, or closely related roles.
• Proven experience designing domain models, data contracts, metadata standards, taxonomies, and governance approaches for complex organizations.
• Hands-on knowledge of semantic technologies such as RDF, OWL, SKOS, SHACL, SPARQL, and graph modelling.
• Experience with knowledge graph technologies such as Neo4j or comparable graph databases and with vector search or hybrid retrieval architectures.
• Understanding of RAG, embeddings, document intelligence, extraction schemas, chunking, retrieval quality, and AI-ready knowledge foundations.
• Ability to facilitate modelling decisions with business experts, data specialists, architects, and international teams.
• Experience in insurance or another knowledge-intensive regulated industry is strongly beneficial.
• Strong architecture documentation, leadership, analytical, and English communication skills.
