Detailed JD - Data Architect

Location: Remote / Atlanta

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to partner with our Data Team Lead in shaping and governing enterprise data solutions. This role will provide architecture leadership, solution guidance, and technical oversight across data platform initiatives while driving alignment among business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and review data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Provide solution architecture, technical advisory, and design review support for data initiatives.
• Guide the design and evolution of modern data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes/lake houses, and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, governance, and business teams to drive architectural alignment.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Mentor technical teams and promote architecture governance and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Data Architecture or related leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, data integration, cloud data platforms, and analytics architectures.
• Experience with AWS, Snowflakes or GCP data ecosystems.
• Knowledge of modern platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or similar technologies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Preferred

• Experience with data governance, MDM, data quality, and metadata management.
• Relevant certifications (TOGAF, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, CDMP).
• Ideal Candidate A strategic, hands-on Data Architect who can serve as a trusted advisor to the Data Team Lead, drive architecture decisions, and foster collaboration across teams to deliver scalable, business-aligned data solutions.
