We’re Hiring: Data Architect

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Contract: 3 months, with possible extension

Work Model: Hybrid

Engagement: Daily-rate contract

VAT Talent is looking for an experienced Data Architect for a contract opportunity in Melbourne. This role will focus on defining data architecture, modernizing data platforms, and enabling trusted data integration across core business systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise data architecture strategy, aligning data initiatives with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Design scalable, secure and cloud-based data platforms to integrate information across equipment, service, sales, finance, supply chain and other business systems.
• Establish and implement data governance, data quality, metadata management, master data management and data standards.
• Enable advanced analytics, business intelligence and AI-driven insights to improve operational efficiency, customer experience and business decision-making.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams and vendors to develop architectural blueprints, integration patterns and implementation roadmaps.
• Drive data consistency, reliability and accessibility across enterprise systems, including ERP and legacy platforms.

Key Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Data Architecture and Enterprise Data Modelling .
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server .
• Experience working with Infor ERP and legacy ERP environments.
• Understanding of data integration, data governance, data quality and master data management.
• Experience designing scalable data platforms and integrating data across complex enterprise systems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical architecture solutions.
