Data Center Cable Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install and route network cables in server racks and equipment areas
• Terminate, label, and organize copper and fiber-optic cables
• Test cable connections and troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Assist with rack installations and infrastructure upgrades
• Maintain accurate cable maps and installation records
• Follow data center access, safety, and security procedures
• Coordinate with network engineers and other technical staff
• Keep work areas organized and free of hazards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
• Experience with structured cabling or IT infrastructure preferred
• Basic understanding of Ethernet, fiber optics, and network cabling
• Ability to use cable testing tools and follow technical instructions
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting equipment as required
• Willingness to work shifts or overtime when necessary
